The red planet is at least 55 million kilometres from the Earth. Imagine the distance covered by the Martian meteorite, of which fragments now adorn the dials of Louis Moinet watches! Upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere, it was transformed from a meteorite into a shooting star before finally falling in the desert.
