Astralis - Limited Edition of 12
Astralis is the first timepiece ever to feature a 24-hour planetarium containing four genuine meteorites, each representing important bodies in our solar system: Mars, Mercury, the Moon and the Sun.
Regulated by an intricately-engineered tourbillon escapement, Astralis also features a split-second, column-wheel chronograph, its intriguingly complex mechanism beguiling the viewer through the display-back.
The planetarium at 6 o’clock contains a quartet of highly polished precious meteorites – Dhofar 459, Itqiy, Sahara 99555 and Jiddat al Harasis 479 – respectively symbolising the Earth’s Moon, the Sun and the planets Mercury and Mars.
Each rare galactic rock fragment is unique and delicately set into a scintillating aventurine disc that makes one whole revolution per day.
Between 11 and 12 o’clock is Astralis’ own mechanical ‘sun’ – a tourbillon escapement – a dazzling source of energy that maximises timekeeping precision by averaging the effects of positional variations caused by gravity.
The entire escapement is mounted in a rotating cage, performing a full rotation every 60 seconds, and is majestically supported by a highly-polished, y-shaped bridge.
Central Gouttes de Rosée hands in gold mark hours and minutes and are complemented by a gold chronograph hand as well as a blued-steel, split-second chronograph hand adorned with a shooting star, the pusher for which is integrated into the crown.
A 30-minute elapsed time counter is at 3 o’clock while the chronograph column wheel, which can be glimpsed through the display-back, provides ultra smooth functionality.
Astralis is an amazing split-second chronograph featuring a 24-hour planetarium containing four genuine meteorites, each representing important bodies in our solar system: Mars, Mercury, the Moon and the Sun. Regulated by an intricately-engineered tourbillion escapement, Astralis is available in a limited edition of 12 pieces.
